NuVista Federal Credit Union Scholarship

For the 2023/2024 school year, NuVista Federal Credit Union is offering three (3) scholarships of $1,200 each for students who are pursuing post-secondary education in a college, university, or technical school located in the United States.

Application deadline is March 29, 2024. Applicants will be chosen on or before May 1, 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The NuVista Federal Credit Union Scholarship is open to all High School Seniors that will be graduating in the spring of 2024 and entering an accredited college, university, or technical school in the fall of 2024. Graduating seniors must be a NuVista Credit Union member or live in the same household as a NuVista Credit Union member. (More details in next bulleted item.)
  • The NuVista Federal Credit Union Scholarship is open to its members (or family members living within the same household of a member) whose accounts are in good standing and have not caused the credit union a loss.
  • Applicants receiving other scholarships are still eligible to win a NuVista Scholarship.
  • NuVista Federal Credit Union employees, officials, and immediate family members are NOT eligible to win awards through the NuVista Scholarship.

Award Disbursements

  • The intended use for the NuVista Federal Credit Union Scholarship is tuition, books and/or other fees associated with enrollment into an accredited college, university, or technical school.
  • The scholarship funds will be dispersed to the college of choice after documentation of enrollment is submitted to the credit union. Examples of Documentation include: a schedule from the school, receipt of payment or any other form of enrollment.

Notification

  • Scholarship winners will be notified no later than May 1, 2024. The Scholarship Committee’s decisions are final, and the scholarships are non-transferable.
  • NuVista Federal Credit Union reserves the right to use all applicants’ names, photographs, and essays in promotional material. If you are chosen for a NuVista Scholarship, you agree to submit a photograph to be used in publicizing the scholarship program.

Application Instructions

  • The following attachments will need to be uploaded in PDF file formats:
    • Transcript
    • Resume
    • Two letters of recommendation from non-family members (teacher, professor, group leader, church leader, employer etc.…) who have personal knowledge of you and can contribute a sense of your personality, achievements, moral stature, or attributes you believe are valuable for the Committee.
    • Essays (Include both essays in one document)
  • The application deadline is March 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST
  • Incomplete applications WILL NOT be reviewed by the Committee

Please upload your resume. Your resume should include information about 1. Honors or academic awards you have received, 2. Your employment history (if applicable), 3. Extra-curricular activities you are involved in, like school organizations and athletics, and any leadership positions you have held (by year), and 4. Community service involvement including hours and a description of the tasks involved.

Letters of Recommendation

Please upload two letters of recommendation from non-family members (teacher, professor, group leader, church leader, employer etc.…) who have personal knowledge of you and can contribute a sense of your personality, achievements, moral stature, or attributes you believe are valuable for the Committee to know.

Essays

Please upload a document with your essay answers. Answer Essay Question #1 (REQUIRED) AND EITHER Essay Question #2 OR Essay Question #3. You should have a total of two essays that you should submit as one document. Please include your name at the top of each page of your document.

Essay Question #1 (REQUIRED) What does Financial Literacy mean to you? And, include what you see as a need for Financial Literacy in schools today? (Minimum 750 words)

Checklist

Please make sure that your application is complete before you submit it to NuVista Federal Credit Union. All applications must include ALL items shown on the Scholarship Application Checklist below. Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on March 29, 2024.
